Cafe Mocha is a popular coffee flavour that combines the smooth richness of dark roast, caramel, and chocolate. It's usually made with espresso—either dry or wet—to create the richest flavor possible. This type of drink became especially popular in Western cultures due to this enormous amount of it being served at Starbucks stores throughout North America.
The earliest recorded recipe for "coffee with chocolate" appears in Auguste Escoffier’s 1907 “Le Guide Culinaire” cookbook, but it is unlikely he invented it himself.
