Best Coffee Shops In Kiev
If you're on the lookout in Kiev for some coffee shops and cafes, this list is for you!
Kiev is one of those cities that pretty much runs on caffeine. Whether it be cappuccinos, americanos, or lattes, you can pretty much find coffee on every corner.
As global coffee culture has evolved, Kiev is not far behind. Many coffee enthusiasts visit Kiev for its hip coffee culture and baristas who wouldn't add syrup to a latte even at gunpoint. Coffee snobs head to Kiev's coffee festival to join a latte art contest or witness cupping events.
Most coffee shops in Kiev buy their beans from local roasters like cafe boutiques. Others also work as micro-roasters and use their own specialty coffees for most of their brews. One can easily stop by most of these cafes or shops to purchase these beans for themselves. Keep in mind that the roads here are usually sparser than some folks are used to.
So if you find yourself looking for some delicious coffee in Kiev, here are some cafes and shops I've handpicked after scouring the Internet, so I assure you, you will not be disappointed.
One Love Espresso Bar
One of the most impressive cafes in Kiev, One Love Espresso Bar is situated on the 6th floor of the Pinchuk Art Center, which is a beautiful and free to visit contemporary art museum. You can find Damien Hirst, Banksy, and Ai Weiwei exhibits here.
Apart from that this place offers panoramic views over of Kiev, and the cafe itself has a minimalistic theme going on, but the selling point is obviously the coffee.
Come And Stay
If you've got some furry friends with you and are looking for a pet-friendly bar with a hipster feel, this is the place to go. Come And Stay is a modern small cafe located on a back street connecting the Lva Tolstoho Square with Shota Rustaveli Street.
Come and stay serves a variety of third-wave and pour-over drinks, including AeroPress, Chemex and Kalita but also offers some delicious flavors like coffee with lemongrass, lavender, and salted caramel. I don't know about you, but this makes me want to plan a trip just so I can have these drinks. Along with this, they also have tea and pastries that pair well with coffee.
Milkbar
A laidback restaurant with international breakfast, meals, desserts and cakes, the Milkbar is probably the most famous place in town. If you visit this bar, you'll definitely find influencers and Instagrammers that want to get in on the trendy interior and picture-perfect food. One can always pose next to the iconic sky-blue takeaway window with a milkshake in a glass bottle and cookies in a metal tin.
This place also serves Ukrainian classics and breakfast staples such as French toast and is the perfect mix of traditional and modern food items with delicious coffee.
The Blue Cup Coffee Shop
Another one of the most Instagrammable cafes in Kiev, the Blue Cup Coffee Shop, has its walls covered in colorful and quirky wallpaper with flora and fauna that are meant to resemble the wild nature of Ukraine itself. One can find pretty much every type of coffee here, along with some unbelievable blends and hot chocolate specialties to go with yummy and healthy snacks.

Along with serving the best panoramic views of the city, great interiors, and an environment that allows one to settle in, relax or even work on their laptops, One Love Cafe is great for breakfast and coffee before you start your day or end it.
Whitebeard Blackbird
If you're a coffee enthusiast, you'll probably find yourself in heaven with Whitebeard Backbird's specialty brews and baristas. Available in two locations, this place combines passionfor art in coffee and a love for exhibitions. I would recommend sipping on a cappuccino and trying some of their blue cheese and caramel cheesecake. With a chill ambiance and the friendly staff, you could probably sit here for a good while enjoying your cup.
EspressoHolic
Pretty much everyone in Kiev will know about EspressoHolic. in the Podil neighborhood, which is famous for its history. A relatively small coffee shop, this place will usually have queues of people waiting to get in all throughout the day. This is because it's one of the few places in the city where you can get some incredible drinks with amazing cheesecakes, brownies, or croissants for just a euro. Great for summer evenings, this place is cheap, cheerful, and always bustling with coffee lovers.
Fair Finch
If you're in the mood to sip some coffee while you learn about coffee, there is nothing better than the Fair Finch. This place is a coffee shop and also a coffee school. Here you can learn to distinguish between different qualities of coffee beans, varieties of coffee, or even how to make a professional brew. They also sell accessories to prepare professional coffee for homebrewers. Sounds like the perfect deal to me.
Vagabond Cafe And Vintage Corner
Another great cafe to go to if you'd like to have first-hand experience of some local culture or events. Located near a picturesque street corner, Vagabond Cafe And Vintage Corner is a self-proclaimed vintage center with quirky outdoor seating. It has a great selection of coffees, cocktails, and vegetarian food.
Also located in the heart of the Podil district, this cafe regularly hosts lectures, poetry readings, music evenings, and many more events. All in all, it’s a great place to get some travel inspiration, meet more people, and get tips on exploring Kiev.
Blur Coffee
Another place to go to if you want to flaunt your visit to Kiev on your Instagram page. Blur Coffee is always crowded as most influencers pose on the green leather couches or the patio. The interior is beautiful with a lot of plants and exposed brick walls, but the true characteristic that stands out is the coffee. One can choose from a number of black coffee drinks like espresso, ristretto, doppio, or milk drinks like cappuccinos or lattes and pour over coffee.
Hum:Hum
This one is for vegans. Great place to sit at and eat, Hum:Hum has a great vegan menu and an incredible living room atmosphere. While it may not be the best place to sit with your laptop and work, it's a great place to eat hummus and salads, along with a great cup of coffee.
Na Stanislavsʹkoho
Finally, let me go back to the traditional cafes where it feels like you've stepped into your grandmother's home. The aroma itself is enough to keep you in this cafe. It's decorated in traditional European fashion with wooden furniture like cupboards, comfy armchairs, and even old sewing tables with a lovely homely feel. They serve masala tea and some great coffee. You can also go for some cakes to pair with traditional wines.
Paliturka - Coffee & Books
Another one of the greatest cafes with a hipster feel, Paliturka cafe presents two of the best things in life which are coffee and books. Cozy and filled to the brim with books, this café is tucked away in the hidden alleyways of Kiev's most popular shopping street, Khreschatyk .
Perfect place to sit down and take a break after you're done with a whole day of shopping and tucking into a book that you've been meaning to read along with a great cup of coffee.

About the author
I like coffee and I like writing, reading, and traveling, all with a cup of coffee in my hand. My recommendation? Brew some coffee (nutty flavors preferred), make it strong, add a little cinnamon and brown sugar, and a touch of soy milk, you've got happiness in a cup! Best served chilled :)
